Last Sunday February the 22nd, our 1st Grade Limited-Overs Cup side triumphed over Fairfield-Liverpool at Rosedale Oval in the Grand Final.
This marks our third Limited Overs Cup title and first since 2007/08
After being sent in to bat, a 195-run partnership between Daniel Hughes (141 off 124) & Trystan Kennedy (73 off 95) for the second wicket put the Dolphins in the drivers seat. Resulting in a large total of 8/300 off our 50-overs.
This total ultimately proved to be too strong, with the Dolphins winning the match by 42 runs via DLS due to afternoon storms ending the match early.
With the ball, two wickets apiece for Palmer, Atallah & Seward lead the way.
ESCC Captain Daniel Hughes was awarded the Michael Bevan Medal for Player of the Match, thanks to his stellar 141 (124 balls).
A hearty thank you to the Fairfield-Liverpool Cricket Club, their council and ground staff for their hospitality. The ground was in brilliant condition with many volunteers ensuring that everything ran smoothly for those in attendance both on and off the field.
