Playing at home, our Eastern Suburbs 2nd were bested by St George 2nd on a day that didn't go our way.
Over the course of the match we totalled 217, and St George 2nd 6/220. Ravi Wikramanayake brought up a stylish half-century, finishing with 57 off 118 balls. Nicholas Taylor played a handy knock of 37. Sam Newton bowled cleverly for the visitors, a five-wicket haul of five for 29.
Mitchell Sciberras picked up four for 59 off 27 overs. Ned Patterson finished with two for 47. Thomas Forrester made a good 61 for our opponents, a well-deserved half-century.
There are plenty of positives to take out of this one.
Back to the nets, and on to the next one.
