It wasn't to be for our Eastern Suburbs 2nd, who were second best against St George 2nd on Saturday.
St George 2nd's innings closed at 5/279 from 50 overs. Our opponents' Lachlan Ball made a classy 100. Fifty for Alexander Parthenis, who made 63 for the hosts. Nick Palmer returned figures of three for 50 off ten overs.
In reply, we finished on 212 from 43.4 overs. A classy 93 off 100 balls from Johnny Connell was the highlight. Joshua Moors was the pick of our opponents' bowlers with three for 68.
There were some fine individual efforts to build on.
On to the next one.
